SOFTBALL:
 B-G captures big win vs Harpursville

HARPURSVILLE - The Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats softball team is on a roll through three straight games, including Friday’s big 27-11 win over Harpursville. As much as B-G misses impressing their home crowd as they’ve been on the road for four consecutive games, they’ve improved to 6-1 on the season.
B-G’s bats tacked on 27 runs on 20 hits, including eight runs in the first inning. Danica Park led the Bobcats as she went 5-for-6 on the day. She singled in the first, third, fifth, sixth, and seventh innings. She also drove in three runs and scored two runs in the win.
Alessandra Cafasso drove in three runs as well and hit a two-run homer in the first inning. Celeste Baldwin also hit a two-run shot in the top of the sixth inning after Tori Suda drove in two runs on an RBI double. The Bobcats were also fearless on running the bases, picking up 14 stolen bases, including five from Park.
Gabriella Cuozzo started on the mound for B-G and earned the win after a strong start by the offense. She only pitched two innings, giving room for Baldwin and Brenna George some time in relief, allowing two runs on two hits, walking two batters, and striking out four.
B-G (6-1) returns home to face Oxford this afternoon at 4:30 p.m.

Norwich falls to Seton Catholic 7-2. Norwich tacked on six hits as Maddy Quattrocchi struck out eight batters in the loss.
Greene falls to Deposit-Hancock 4-1. Greene loads the bases in the bottom of the seventh, but can’t score. Payton Yahner strikes out 15 batters on the mound while providing two hits on offense and scored the only Trojans run. Rhea Malmquist also adds a hit in the loss.
UV gets 27 runs on 23 hits to defeat Walton 27-6. Bella Jones leads the team with four hits and Shyla Roberts hits two home runs. Haleigh Fisher struck out seven batters over four innings.
TENNIS:
Oxford falls to Delhi 5-0.
Saturday, April 22:
BASEBALL:
Sherburne-Earlville falls to Mount Markham 9-2. No full stats are reported at this time.
